Clash of Clans Game Mode is a Smash Hit

Clash of Clans, one of the most popular game franchises on mobile, recently rolled out a whole new game mode for its flagship title. And judging by the stats shared via Twitter, it’s safe to say that it’s gone down a storm with fans.

The Clan Capital is a new Clash of Clans game mode designed to increase clan camaraderie as players pool together to develop a capital from scratch, rather than engaging in Clan Wars with players in various stages of development.

Within it, players work together to build a shared Capital, which comprises several Districts. These Districts can be developed as a team by spending Capital Gold, which is itself generated via Home Village and Builder Base resources. Contributing to buildings within these Districts will earn Reputation points while bolstering the power of your clan’s Capital. And then, of course, players can tear each others’ down. It’s the circle of Clash.

And we imagine that Supercell are feeling pretty happy with their new Clash of Clans game mode, because if the stats shared by the official Clash account on Twitter are anything to go by – it’s pretty popular.

We can be sure of one thing, that players are grabbing the bull by the horns and tearing into the capitals of their compatriots. Because with nearly 700-million Super Giants deployed and over 7 million wall upgrades contributed to – there seems to be a distinct presence of tit-for-tat. Plus, players have been putting their builders to work in droves, with over 100 million builders crafting Capital Gold at Builder Bases.

Needless to say, it looks as though Clash of Clans – which has recently announced a slew of spinoff titles due to be released in short order – is not slowing down any time soon. With millions of players still engaging in brand new game modes, and Supercell showing that they are still keen to keep their core title relevant amid their new IPs, we can see this app gaming classic going strong for years to come, a decade after its original release.

For those that haven’t yet played, Clash of Clans is available to download and play for free on Google Play and the App Store now.
