Zynga's Star Wars Hunters is Now Globally Available!

Great news for Star Wars fans! Zynga recently launched the highly anticipated Star Wars: Hunters worldwide! The game initially had a soft launch in selected countries and after some delays, it was finally made available globally for both Android and iOS devices. Star Wars: Hunters is generally a free-to-play PvP combat arena game developed by Zynga, the same company behind Farmville, Zynga Poker, Game of Thrones: Legends and CSR Racing.

The game was done in collaboration with Disney and LucasFilm who created the successful Star Wars franchise. Interestingly, while the game is not technically canon to any of the franchise’s titles, Star Wars: Hunters will still take you to some familiar places. The event in this game will take you after the fall of the Galactic Empire which is between Episode IV and Episode VII of the classic series.

The Gameplay

The mechanics of the game are very simple and easily manageable, yet the players are still encouraged to exert the best strategy to win the match. Star Wars: Hunters is a squad-based game that is quite similar to games like Apex Legends and Team Fortress 2. Each Squad is composed of 4 players that are randomly matched by the system. The main objective is to eliminate as many opponents as possible until your team reaches the target score, or to become the leading squad with the greatest number of kills within the given time frame.

As soon as the game starts (after completing the training), the player will be prompted to the main dashboard which gives him access to all the game’s available campaigns, events, Arena pass, in-game shop, and more. Simply tap the Play button to access the Game Modes which includes the Squad Brawl, Power Control, Dynamic Control, and Trophy Chase. Once deployed on the battlefield, you can freely navigate the area along with your team and eliminate any approaching enemies using your specialized skills.

Colorful Characters and Maps

Star Wars: Hunters will introduce its own set of diverse characters. While these characters are made exclusively for this game, the characters are very much inspired by the Star Wars franchise. Currently, there are 13 playable characters to unlock in this game. These characters are divided into three different classes, including Damage, Support, and Tank. Each hunter comes with its own set of skills, and each has three upgradable abilities. The more you use the character, the more upgrade points you can earn. Upgrading their abilities will drastically improve their attributes, making them more effective and efficient on the battlefield.

Here is the current roster of hunters available:

Damage: Aran Tal, Imara Vex, Diago, J-3DI, Rieve, and Utooni

Support: Skora, Sprocket, and Zaina

Tank: Sentinel, Charr, Grozz, and Slingshot

Be mindful that not all characters are instantly available to use. Most of these can be unlocked if you have earned enough Hunter tokens which can be obtained by completing campaigns, quests, or through Arena Pass. To top it all off, each character can also be customized. There are multiple costumes, Stickers, Victory poses, and weapon wraps (skins) that can be equipped for your character.

Maps in this game are equally colorful and fascinating. The game takes you to 8 massive 3D maps that are based on the actual Star Wars franchise. These include the Outer Rim Territories, Vespaara, and the Grand Arena to name a few.

Ranking System

As soon as you reach Level 6, you will be able to unlock the Ranked Mode. This campaign is very much the same as the normal modes but will emphasize more on the number of times you win the battle. Here, you can compete with other players worldwide in the leaderboard system. The more wins you have, the higher the chance of catapulting yourself to the top chart.

Appearance-wise, Star Wars: Hunters is an absolute visual delight that treats you with amazing visuals, colorful character design, and immersive maps to explore. The game offers console-grade graphics and is wonderfully optimized for mobile devices. It also offers a decent amount of reward systems, including the Daily Login Bonuses, Quest System, and of course, the Arena Pass.

While the Free Arena Passes will guarantee you decent prizes, you can fully embrace the game’s generous reward system by purchasing the Premium Pass. Rewards might include rare costumes, weapon wraps, and even hunters.

Overall, Star Wars: Hunters is a simple, fun, and surprisingly addictive squad-based shooter game. It comes with a very straightforward gameplay with loads of wonderful heroes to explore.
