The moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived as Apex Legends Mobile is due to launch in full next week on Tuesday 17th May. Yes, it’s really that soon.
The colorful hero shooter from EA is one of the most popular in the battle royale sphere. For three years PC and console gamers have been able to play with the colorful cast of characters that make up the hero roster in this Respawn Entertainment joint. But now it’s time for app gamers to have a go.
Apex Legends Mobile was confirmed to be in the works by Respawn last year. The port promises an authentic Apex experience but perfected for the mobile screen. It will also retain its free-to-play model and will reintroduce some familiar maps and faces. The mobile rendition will also start from scratch at season 1 while its PC and console counterparts enter season 13. So it’s a fresh start for Apex aficionados.
With a heap of good news, however, comes a smidgeon of bad. Because while app gamers can now join in on the action, they can only do so together because Apex Legends Mobile does not support cross-play. This was confirmed by Respawn last year, but it also means that Apex Legends Mobile will enjoy its own unique run of battle passes and maps alongside other mobile-exclusive gameplay features.
As for the nitty gritty, however, EA is still keeping its cards close to its chest. As yet there has been no confirmation on which heroes, maps and modes that players can expect on launch. Though we imagine we’ll have a pretty meaty game to sink our teeth into regardless.
Until then, there’s still a chance for prospective players to get their hands on some pre-registration rewards ahead of its full launch. By hitting the 15-million and 25-million sign-up milestones would-be players can nab the Become Legendary Holospray and Sunfire Initiate Epic Skin, respectively. With the last milestone reached being a not-so-paltry 10 million, we’re sure that this announcement will go some way to pushing us over the edge for those last two.
If you would like to pre-register, be sure to check out Apex Legends Mobile on Google Play and the official site.
